Some Jobs Still In Hot Demand

Scientific it may not be, but a recent release from a growing career matching web site provides some interesting trends in what it terms the Top 25 most recession-proof jobs. The basis for the rankings is the professions in greatest demand by employers and recruiters who used the site in the previous four months.

Some of the results:

  • New to the list: medical administrative services, information technology security, higher education faculty, product managers and human resource generalists
  • Dropping out of the Top 25: database administration, advertising, testing/quality assurance and business analysis (both research and software implementation categories)
  • Biggest movers up the list: technology executive (up eight spots to No. 16) and counseling/social work (up seven spots to No. 4)
  • Sliding downward: mechanical and electrical engineering

The overall top five: sales representative/business development, account/customer support, accounting staff, counseling/social work and software design/development.

Take what you wish from the report, but it was effective enough from the company’s standpoint to gain a mention here.
